2024 Beat Mix Industry Awards

Organiser:
The Beat Mix Industry Awards is organised by DJ Alliance Australasia Inc. (DJAA), hereinafter referred to as “the Organiser.” The DJAA is a not-for-profit association that promotes professionalism within the DJ & MC industry through information, education, networking, and support.

1. Eligibility:

1.1 The Beat Mix Industry Awards (hereinafter referred to as “the Awards”) are open to individuals and entities involved in the Disc Jockey, Master of Ceremony and related industries.

1.2 There is currently no cost involved to participate in the Awards.

2. Entry Submission:

2.1 All entries must be submitted by the specified deadline.

2.2 Incomplete or late submissions will not be considered.

2.3 Entrants are responsible for providing accurate and complete information.

3. Categories and Judging:

3.1 The Awards consist of the following categories:
– DJ Controller of the Year
– Speaker/PA Product of the Year
– Lighting Product of the Year
– Accessory of the Year
– Microphone of the Year
– Retailer of the Year
– Golden Headphone
– Golden Microphone
– Chairperson’s Award
– DJAA Hall of Fame

4. Nomination and Winners:

4.1 Manufacturers and Wholesalers/Distributors, physically located in Australia, are eligible to nominate new products, released in the previous fifteen months, in the following categories:

DJ Controller of the Year,
Speaker/PA Product of the Year,
Lighting Product of the Year,
Accessory of the Year,
Microphone of the Year.

4.2 Retailers, DJs, and MCs can nominate individual retail stores for the Retailer of the Year category. Retail Stores must be physically located in Australia.

4.3 DJs and MCs can nominate individuals for the Golden Headphone and Golden Microphone categories. Nominations must include all the reasons why the nominee is worthy of the award. Finalists will be determined by a combination of number of nominations and validity/ranking of reasons provided to justify the nomination.

4.4 DJs and MCs can nominate individuals for DJAA Hall of Fame, however Nominees must meet at least two of the following criteria: –

– Held a position on the DJAA committee or Beat Mix Sub-Committee for a minimum of 7-10 years.
– Been a member of DJAA for a minimum of 10 years.
– Have a minimum of 1000 events or 10 years of industry experience.
– Made a significant contribution to the entertainment industry.

4.5 Finalists in each category may be required to provide additional information and photographs for verification or promotional purposes and inclusion in event materials. Failure to provide this information may result in disqualification.

4.6 Any evidence of fraudulent activity by any participant to affect the results, including but not limited to, manipulation of votes, false information submission, or any other unethical behaviour, will result in immediate disqualification. The decision to disqualify will be made by the Organiser and is final.

4.6 Winners of each category are determined by the most votes received for each category, with the exception of the Chairperson’s Award and DJAA Hall of Fame, which will be decided by the Chairperson and a unanimous vote of the DJAA Committee. Decisions are final, and no correspondence will be entered into regarding the results.

4.7 Finalists and Winners will be provided with a Beat Mix Industry Award Seal to promote their respective achievement. The Seal must be used in accordance with these terms and conditions and may be displayed on marketing materials, websites, and social media channels. The Seal design must not be modified in any manner, except for resizing purposes.

4.8 Winners of the Product categories (New Controller, New Speaker/PA, New Lighting, New Accessory & New Microphone) will also receive a complimentary Exhibitor Stand at the subsequent Beat Mix event. They also have the option to upgrade to Bronze, Silver, Gold, or Platinum Sponsorship at a discounted rate. Full details regarding these benefits will be communicated following the announcement of winners. To receive these benefits, winners must agree to the Beat Mix Exhibitor or Sponsor terms & conditions.

5. Intellectual Property:

5.1 By submitting an entry, the entrant grants the Organiser and the Awards the right to use their name, images, and entry for promotional purposes.

5.2 Entrants must ensure that they have the necessary rights to submit any content included in their entry.

6. Publicity and Promotion:

6.1 The Organiser and the Awards may promote the event and winners through various media channels.

7. Liability:

7.1 The Organiser is not liable for any loss, damage, or injury related to participation in the Awards.

8. Privacy:

8.1 Personal information collected for the Awards will be used in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

9. Changes and Cancellation:

9.1 The Organiser reserves the right to make changes to these terms and to cancel or postpone the event if necessary.

10. Voting:

10.1 Votes will be collected via the Beat Mix website at www.beatmix.com.au.

11. Governing Law:

11.1 These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of New South Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the New South Wales courts.

By entering the Beat Mix Industry Awards, participants agree to abide by these terms and conditions. Failure to comply with these terms may result in disqualification.
