Beat Mix is excited to announce the inaugural Beat Mix Industry Awards, a prestigious event recognising outstanding products relevant to DJs & MCs released in the fifteen months prior to the Awards nomination period. The Awards celebrate innovation and excellence in the audio and lighting industry and offer a unique opportunity for participants to gain well-deserved recognition.
The 2024 Beat Mix Industry Awards distinguishes products released in specific categories during the period of 1 January 2023 to 31 March 2024. We invite eligible DJ & MC Industry representatives to participate by nominating relevant products for consideration in the following New Product Of The Year categories:
1. New DJ Controller Of The Year
2. New Speaker/PA Product Of The Year
3. New Lighting Product Of The Year
4. New Accessory Product Of The Year
5. New Microphone Of The Year
The New Product of the Year recognition is not merely an award; it is a powerful marketing tool. Winners can anticipate increased sales, expanded product trial opportunities, wider distribution channels, and heightened awareness in their target markets. Moreover, Finalists and Winners will have the privilege of utilising the Product of the Year seal and will be featured in periodic targeted social media advertising.
The winner of each New Product of the year category, will be determined by the product which received the highest number of votes in each category.
Entry in the New Product categories is free, and we encourage eligible entities, i.e. Australian Distributors of Global DJ & MC Related Products, Australian Manufacturers of DJ & MC Related Products to seize this opportunity to showcase their excellence. Additionally, we are pleased to announce the following categories for special recognition:
1. Retailer Of The Year
Retailers, DJs, and MCs can nominate individual retail stores for the Retailer of the Year category. Where retailers have multiple stores, each individual store may be nominated. Retail Stores must be physically located in Australia.
2. Golden Headphone Award
3. Golden Microphone Award
DJs and MCs can nominate individuals for the Golden Headphone (DJ Award) and Golden Microphone (MC Award) categories. Nominations must include all the reasons why the nominee is deserving of the award. Finalists will be determined by a combination of number of nominations received and validity/ranking of reasons provided to justify the nomination.
4. Chairperson’s Award
The Chairperson’s Award will be decided by the Chairperson and a unanimous vote of the DJAA Committee
5. DJAA Hall Of Fame Inductee/s
DJs and MCs can nominate individuals for DJAA Hall of Fame, however Nominees must meet at least two of the following criteria: –
- Held a position on the DJAA committee or Beat Mix Sub-Committee for a minimum of 7-10 years.
- Been a member of DJAA for a minimum of 10 years.
- Have a minimum of 1000 events or 10 years of industry experience.
- Made a significant contribution to the entertainment industry.
DJAA Hall of Fame recipients will be decided by the Chairperson and a unanimous vote of the DJAA Committee.

• 30 July 2024: Winners Announced at Beat Mix 2024
Finalists & Winners will be presented with a category-specific Seal, granting them the right to incorporate this prestigious mark into their marketing communications for one year.
